Intelsat at ITW 2009 - Innovation Workshops

The Opening Plenary Session at ITW 2009 will feature Intelsat CEO Dave McGlade as a panelist. The session’s discussion will focus on how telecommunications companies are weathering the current global economic downturn, the techniques they’re employing to address the unfolding effects on the various sectors of the telecommunications industry and a look forward at the opportunities to tailor our future business models from the lessons learned during the current economic cycle. Monday's Opening Session will begin at 8:30 a.m. following an 8:20 a.m. welcome address to all attendees. What question will you have for CEO McGlade?

Intelsat’s Innovation Workshops, tailored for and open to all Intelsat customers attending ITW 2009, will be hosted by Intelsat subject-matter experts covering a broad scope of topics including: broadband mobility, managed network services, and the industry-wide initiative to mitigate satellite interference.

Lynette Simmons, Director of Marketing Communications at Intelsat, said, “Intelsat’s Innovation Workshops are designed to covey information about new products and services, educate on the latest technical tools, and engage Intelsat customers in dialogue about current industry trends and customer requirements .” All workshops will be held in the Intelsat Pavilion in Hall B North.

We’d be remiss if we didn't mention the networking opportunities Intelsat customers, partners and industry friends will have in the Intelsat Pavilion at ITW. The Intelsat Pavilion will be open to all attending Intelsat customers every day of the conference, Monday-Wednesday, 1-3 June, from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. We’re also looking forward to connecting with hundreds of invited customers who will be attending the Intelsat-sponsored Customer Gala on Monday evening.

Looking at the Innovation Workshops schedule, what question(s) will you pose (and at which session) to our workshop leaders?

Street & Smith’s Sports Business Awards

Intelsat was a sponsor of this year's Street & Smith’s Sports Business Awards, held at the New York Marriott Marquee in New York City.

Many of Intelsat's customers, including ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports and MLB were nominated for awards. The major theme: that globalization is a driving force in an industry that nearly always has an inspiring story to tell--at least for the winning team.

Most impressive? Peter Ueberroth was awarded a Sports Achievement Lifetime Achievement Award. What an impressive public servant!
